I Love You Wall Plaque

Welcome back friends! Let's jump right on in with today's project. Today I have a project made using the flower template from JnW Crafts.

Ready to see how it was made?

I started by layering patterned paper on a 6 inch plaque. Then, using the flower template, I cut out individual flower petals from two different designs of patterned paper. Then I simply layered the flower petals around the outer edge of the plaque.

Next, I added a bit of ribbon.  Don't worry that the circle of ribbon is not perfectly round.  It will be covered with all sorts of embellishments later.

Next, I curled the edges of all the flower petals.  This as a quick process. I just took a dowel rod and curled the edges of the paper around it for a few seconds.

Lastly, I added on lots of flowers, lots of bling, mini playing cards, a butterfly, and a heart.

A beautiful project just ready for giving as a gift or to keep and brighten your own home.

Real Fun

Can you believe it's the beginning of another month already?  That means it's time for a new challenge at Scrap It Girl. The challenge for July is to use the colors red, navy, cream, and kraft. And since my birthday is just a few days away, I'm also hosting this month's challenge.  So head on over to the Scrap It Girl page and see what it takes to get entered in the July challenge.

For this challenge I created a card fit for any male recipient in your life.  So let's get going, and I'll show you how it was created.

I started with simply inking the edges of a piece of white cardstock.

Next, I layered the white cardstock onto a Kraft cardstock base.  Then, I adhered a piece of burlap for a bit of texture.

Now, on to the embellishments.  I wanted some bling, but I only had clear crystals.  No problem though. I just inked them with alcohol based ink, and instantly I had blue crystals.

Next I heat embossed a chipboard hat with white embossing powder.

For the lat embellishments, I used Unique Laser Designs wood pieces and also inked them with alcohol ink.

Now to just pull everything together.  I layered on a red die-cut, added my hat on top, then added a star and ribbon to the hat. I added the crystals to the top and bottom of the card, and lastly added the sentiment.

It all adds up to a quick to make card that full of color and texture!
