Favorite Things Friday

So it's time for Scrap It Girl's Favorite Thing Friday. The topic this week - favorite craft storage idea.

Soooooooo, my favorite storage item is my Tim Holtz ink storage suitcase.  This thing is truly awesome!  It holds all of my most reached for inks - Adirondacks, Distress, StazOn, craft inks, Perfect Pearls, spray inks, Gelatos, ink tools, stamp scrubby pad, and there's still a bit of room to add more.

What more could a gal ask for but to have that may inks organized and right at hand? Maybe a million dollars, but that might be reaching just a bit :)

A New Year, A New Project

It's time to ring in 2014, and what better way to do that than with a fun, new project.  Today I'm going to show you how I turned a small piece of canvas into an adorable set of earrings.

I started with small piece of adhesive backed canvas, approximately 3in by 5in.  Then, using a Yellow Zig Fabricolor pen, color the entire piece of canvas.

I always add a bit of bling to my projects, and that's just what I did.  I squeezed a couple drops of ink from an Orange Wink of Stella Brush Pen onto my craft sheet.  Then I mixed the ink with a bit of water.  By diluting the ink, it allowed me to get all the benefit of the glimmer, but just a hint of color, which is exactly what I wanted.

Next, I randomly stamped on two different images using my Black and Red Fabricolor pens.

Next I created the heart shapes.  Start with removing the backing on the canvas, then fold the canvas in half.

Now, simply cut out two heart shapes from the canvas.

Next, add an eyelet into the upper corner of each heart.

Lastly, attach a jump ring to the eyelet, then attach an earring hook.

Now you have a ready to wear unique, one of a kind set of earrings.
